Getting Around
Dublin is a very walkable city and it’s public transport is pretty decent. Ask Google maps how to get somewhere and see what it suggests by foot or by public transport.

Leap Card
A leap card is a non-contact card you can use to pay for travel on tram, bus or local rail services.
The regular leap card is refillable, you can top it up using a credit card at a ticket machine, or using a phone app, and your fare is deducted from the stored value each time you use it.
You’ll only be charged a maximum of €2 for a 90 minute period, even if you tap on to several rides.
The visitor leap card gives you unlimited travel for 1, 3 or 7 days. Amongst other places you can buy these at the airport at Spar or WH Smiths.
Luas
The Luas is the local tram service. There are two lines - the green line goes roughly north-south, the red east-west. You can buy a ticket at ticket machines at the stops, or use a Leap card. If you use a Leap card you tap on to the system on the platform, then tap off again on the platform at the destination.
Bus
Buses run fairly reliably. Google maps will tell you which number to get and where from. You can pay cash, or you can use a Leap card. You tap on when you get on the bus and don’t tap off.
The Aircoach route 700 will take you from the airport to Leeson Street Upper, which is about five minutes walk from the hotel. You can book tickets in advance online, €10 one way, €15 return. Note that there are two Clayton Hotels in Ballsbridge, you want the one on Burlington Road that the 700 will take you to, not the other one that the 702 goes to.
Taxis
You can flag a taxi in the street. They’ll usually prefer cash, even if they can technically accept credit cards.
The local app for ordering rides is called “Free Now”.
There really isn’t any ride-share service, so while your Uber app will work it’ll mostly let you order an uber black or a taxi, for slightly more than just getting a regular taxi.
Budget €30-45 to taxi between the airport and the MAAWG hotel.
